As doing a shoot can be a bit daunting, I thought it’d be good to create a FAQ page, where I answer some of the questions I’ve been getting a lot. If you have a different question, feel free to reach out!
Questions about the shoot
Do I have to know how to pose, or should I prepare poses in advance?
It can help if you already have some poses in mind, that you maybe saw in other pictures I took, or on pinterest. But please don’t feel pressured to do this, I’m the professional, and I will help you find poses that work for your “vibe” and bodytype!
Do I have to show x part of my body for a boudoir/fetish/erotic shoot?
It’s your party darlin’! You’re in charge. You should never do anything you’re not comfortable with. You tell me what you do and don’t want to wear.
How many outfits should I bring?
I offer different packages, with the amount of outfits mentioned in the package description. I would advise you to bring one extra outfit, so if something breaks, or you decide you don’t feel comfortable, you can wear something else.
Also bring shoes, and accessories! Maybe jewelry, or something more kinky like a collar etc. I have some accessories we can use as well.
Is hair and makeup included?
You can let me do your makeup! Make sure you ask this a few days in advance, so I can clean my brushes and do other preparations. Please bring your own foundation and mascara though, as I don’t have all shades of foundation, and mascara for hygiene reasons. I’m not very skilled at hair, so you’d have to do your own hair, or hire a hair stylist.
Do you have payment plans?
No, you’d be expected to pay the whole amount on the day of the shoot, or in advance.
Do you Photoshop my images?
Yes, I always edit the photos I take. I will smooth out your contours a bit, clean up your skin, add highlights and shadows, fix your lingerie or remove labels and other distracting things. I will not make you skinnier, or fundamentally change your appearance, as you are already gorgeous!!
Some things are personal, like some people want me to remove stretch marks whilst others do not. If you want me to remove cellulite, stretch marks, scars etc, please tell me this, because this is something I usually leave untouched.
Do you share my images?
Unless you signed a TFP contract, I’ll never share the pictures without your explicit consent. I understand the very personal and intimate nature of a photography session, so this is your decision to make, not mine. If you do allow me to post images, you can select which ones, and whether you want to be tagged or not.
How long does a shoot last?
That depends on whether you have chosen the Standard Package, Deluxe Package or the Platinum Package. Also if you’ve already done your makeup in advance, it will save some time, because when I do your makeup during the shoot this takes around 45 minutes. Generally a shoot takes between 1 and 3 hours.
Do I have to wear lingerie or latex?
You can wear whatever you want! The goal is to make you look and feel beautiful, and that can be achieved in many different ways, depending on your gender expression, style, comfort level and many more factors. So if you want to wear an evening gown, awesome! But an oversized hoodie is also totally cool! Or a kinky catsuit? Great!
I’m older than / not as skinny as / not as experienced as the models on your website. Can I still book a shoot?
Of course! Most of my clients are over 40 and a lot of them are well into the plus-sizes. But not everyone is comfortable with me showing their photos online, so a lot of pictures I publish are of (semi)professional models. I will create images to flatter YOU, and you don’t have to compare yourself to others!
Can I bring my friend / sister / cousin to the shoot?
I prefer working one-on-one with you, so I can make a better connection with you, and so neither of us gets distracted or insecure from the spectator. Often an “audience” can make you more self-conscious. But, if you really feel you’d be more at ease with someone you know present, they can come. Please let me know in advance though.
I can’t make my shoot date, can I reschedule?
Absolutely, I’m happy to make changes for you if something comes up. You can reschedule your shoot once with a minimum of 14 days notice without a penalty. If you need to reschedule within the 14 days, I’ll ask you for half the agreed upon price for the shoot as a deposit. The other half you’ll pay during the shoot. If you cancel second time, you’ll need to make another deposit, and the initial deposit will not be refunded. If you cancel a third time, the second deposit will also be taken without refund and no new appointment will be made.
Questions about Luca from Swan’s Seduction
Do you speak Dutch?
I do! I speak English and Dutch fluently. I have chosen to write in English on my website and social media to reach a wider audience, but I was born and raised in the Netherlands, so my Dutch is more than adequate.
Where is your studio located?
In Amsterdam Nieuw-West, near Osdorpplein. The exact address will be given to you when our shoot date is near. But don’t feel obliged to shoot in my studio! We can also do the photoshoot in your home, in a hotel room, outside in a forest, in a BDSM studio or wherever else you have in mind! Do note that if it’s not in my studio, you’re expected to pay for the location and my travel expenses.
What is your photography style?
I have a hard time putting it into words but I’m going to try. My main focus is on empowering the subject, and making them feel gorgeous and powerful. This can be in a kinky, dark and gritty setting, or with a cutesy and colourful tone. I love using creative lighting, unique perspectives and artistic post-production to tell my client’s stories and bring out their beauty and personality.
Why did you become a photographer?
My education was in styling, with a focus on fashion. I liked it, but it didn’t captivate me completely. Also I have a background in fetish modeling, and once again I liked it, but it wasn’t a true passion.
A friend asked me if I could take pictures of her, to make her feel more confident and so she’d have nice pictures of herself. I agreed and this is when everything clicked. I could combine my knowledge of styling, makeup and posing into one skill: photography! I learned all I could about the technical aspects of lighting, cameras and post-production, and now I really have found my passion in life!
