From Idea to Reality: Creating The Muses Calendar 2026

4–6 minutes

I launched my very first physical product with Swan’s Seduction:
The Muses Calendar 2026.

Here’s how it all came to life:

Its all started with an idea

I’ve always loved those vintage Playboy-style calendars. Glossy, glamorous, a little bit cheeky.
But I didn’t want to recreate that, I wanted to reclaim it.

People had been asking if I’d ever sell prints, but that never felt quite right. Then I thought… models sometimes release their own calendars, so why couldn’t I do the same? A sexy calendar, yes, but seen through an empowering gaze: cheeky, intimate, and made as a love letter to the women who’ve inspired me.

Swan’s Seduction exists because of the muses.

Over the years, hundreds of women and queer people have stood in front of my lens. They trusted me when I was still learning, figuring out my lights and angles.
They helped me grow, not just as a photographer, but as a person.

This calendar is for them and for anyone who’s ever looked at my work and thought, “maybe I could be my own muse too.”

Choosing the twelve muses

Back in February, I sat down and made a list of the people who’ve truly shaped Swan’s Seduction. That part was harder than I expected as I’ve photographed hundreds of models since 2021, and there are only twelve months in a year.

Eventually, I made my selection. I mapped out concepts, chose which muse fit which month, and sketched out a (very optimistic) schedule. Spoiler: I didn’t stick to it. (Hello, AuDHD procrastination.) But to my surprise and delight, every single muse I asked said yes.

The shoots

The first session was in February with Esperanza del Horno, and then… I kind of let things slide for a while.
I kept thinking, “I’ve got plenty of time.” Except I didn’t, I wanted all shoots finished by late September, so after my summer holiday in Sicily, I really had to hustle.

Some shoots happened at my home studio, others on location.
One was even shot at a quiet little beach with Anna Lynx and it turned out absolutely stunning.

The final shoot, with Red & Risky, was the most emotional one. She’s not just one of my muses; she’s the reason Swan’s Seduction exists.

She was the first person who ever asked me to photograph her, years ago. That experience lit the spark that became this whole brand.

She’s been very ill, and organising her shoot was a challenge. But we made it happen and she absolutely glowed. I’m endlessly proud of her.

Editing, design, and the not-so-glamorous side

After the shoots came the editing marathon and the the design phase. I wanted it to feel polished and professional, not just a collection of pretty photos thrown together.

I decided to go with print-on-demand through MagCloud, so every order is printed and shipped directly, anywhere in the world.
That way, I could set a fair profit margin without taking on huge printing costs or risky pre-orders.

Designing the calendar itself was… a process. I’m no InDesign wizard, and print layouts are a whole different beast from digital work.

I even hired a designer on Fiverr to create the cover and let’s just say, the result was not it. (check the hideous green picture). Luckily, I got a refund and decided to do it myself. And I’m glad I did. It turned out exactly how I wanted it.

Planning the launch

Somewhere in early autumn, I got the wild idea to throw a launch party. I had zero budget, zero experience with event planning but a lot of stubborn determination.

Thanks to a bit of luck (and a community favour I could call in), I managed to host it at a beautiful creative space in Amsterdam.

The launch party

The launch event was incredible! I had ordered prints of all twelve calendar images, framed them myself, and displayed them on the wall as a small exhibition. Seeing them together felt surreal, I was so proud.

Although four of the twelve muses couldn’t be there, the eight who did join me made the night feel complete. I also invited my partner and a few friends and family members, and their presence added an extra layer of warmth and support. I even gave a speech, and we raised our glasses together to art, to the muses, and to empowerment.

I felt happy and grounded the entire evening. We shared prosecco, food, and great conversations, surrounded by models, creatives, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you remember why you do the work you do. It was everything I hoped the launch would be.

The marketing (aka: me spamming your feed, sorry not sorry)

Launching a product means you actually have to market it and since I don’t have an ad budget, I leaned fully into organic content.

I shared behind-the-scenes, reels, sneak peeks, and stories throughout October and early November. Maybe I overdid it a little (sorry if I flooded your feed!), but I poured so much into this project that I wanted to give it the love and attention it deserves.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it

There were moments I wanted to quit.
But I’d already asked the muses, already done the work and I couldn’t let them down. So I kept going, learning, stressing, pushing myself past what I thought I could handle.

And now, it’s real. I did it.
