Planning ahead is a must for a successful boudoir shoot, so prepare your sets a week or two in advance. This way you can check whether everything fits nicely and you feel completely comfortable in it.
A well-fitting bra is important, if it is too big you can always put some “chicken fillets” in it, but too small is almost impossible to correct.
It is also better to go for slightly too wide than too tight panties and suspender belt. A roll here and there is of course not bad at all, but pinching your body is usually not very flattering.
I am a big fan of the 3-piece set: the bra, suspender belt and panties. It is important that you bring stockings, this also applies to basques and bustiers with suspenders. The loose suspenders can look a bit sloppy.

When buying your stockings, it is better to go for something that is too loose rather than too tight/short. “Stay-ups” can also sometimes press on your thighs which can be less flattering.
If you do not want to wear stockings, but do want to wear garters, you can also attach thigh straps to your set, these are often already included, with both more expensive brands and cheaper lingerie brands.
Remember, boudoir photography is all about celebrating your unique beauty and sensuality.
Your lingerie choices should reflect your personality and make you feel powerful and beautiful.
If you find it a bit daunting to “take it all off”, then you can make yourself more comfortable with a beautiful lace or silk robe. And this is still very sexy! Sometimes it’s hot when you don’t see everything….
Bodies are also a great option if you prefer not to put your belly in the spotlight, and of course you still have the waspie, basque, and high-waist suspender belt.
But you do want to show yourself, right? So check carefully what you are comfortable with, but also dare to push yourself a bit with your looks. You will be amazed at how beautiful you are, so it would be a shame if you hide that beautiful body too much!

During a boudoir shoot you can lie on the bed without shoes, which is a more casual, nonchalant look. But you can also go for shoes, high heels can give it that little bit extra. And the great thing is, you don’t have to be able to walk in them, so you can finally dig out those beautiful stiletto pumps that you never dared to wear from underneath your closet!
Which colors you choose is also relevant. For example, choose a soft pastel blue for a sweet, luxurious look, or neon pink for a more edgy look. My recommendation: Don’t just get black and red sets. Some color is fun and unique.
